Amber advises healthcare boards, committees, medical staff bodies, and their employees regarding HIPAA, Stark, Anti-Kickback, HCQIA, and other federal laws as well as state-specific healthcare laws and regulations. She assists physicians and other licensed healthcare providers through Idaho Board of Medicine and Idaho Board of Licensing proceedings. In addition, Amber drafts and negotiates a variety of provider contracts, and has experience working with third party valuation firms to assess fair market value and establish physician compensation strategies. Amber understands and anticipates the challenges faced by healthcare providers in implementing ever-changing healthcare regulations in a compliant and effective way. Her legal career has included both transactional work and litigation, enhancing her ability to identify and mitigate risk for organizations and individuals. Additionally, she advises on compliance with federal regulations in clinical trial and research settings. Before joining Holland & Hart, Amber served as in-house counsel at a major health system in Idaho and as a civil division Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office. She also clerked for the Idaho Supreme Court and the Idaho Fourth Judicial District.
