Kim (Doney) McKeehan, LCSW, is a true Montana Native, a descendent of both Hereford breeding homesteaders and the Metis/otipemisiwak or “the people who own themselves.” Kim grew up in Bozeman, Montana, and Seattle, Washington, earned degrees in English literature, Native American studies and social work from Montana universities and now lives in Great Falls, Montana. Kim served for five years on the tribal council for the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana, during which time they received federal recognition. She is currently a therapist in private practice and is especially interested in healing intergenerational trauma through community and cultural interventions.
