Description

During this hour, attendees will be given a context for understanding the legacy of intergenerational trauma through the lens of a Little Shell Tribal member. Attendees will gain an understanding of the point of view for urban native clients, including members of the Little Shell tribe, in an impactful way to improve cultural humility and engage clients in building resilience based in strengths. Historical context can provide a meaningful perspective for professionals to understand themselves in relation to indigenous people while decentering their own experience in favor of a client-centered approach.  Supporting Speaker: Gail Baker, LCSW
