Description

Educators have an imperative to attend to students’ academic, social, emotional and behavioral development. Schools are a natural and logical setting in which to employ a public-health framework that focuses on promoting student well-being and healthy behaviors and preventing mental health problems before they occur. But schools cannot do it alone. What we need is a comprehensive, interconnected system where the resources of community partners are leveraged to assist schools in best supporting students. In this session we will explore how to work smarter not harder and leverage our already established multi-tiered frameworks to accommodate mental health supports for students.

In order to create a truly comprehensive school mental health model, we must include providers/clinicians, educators, students, families and community members.
