LGBTQIA+ healthcare disparities continue to be a significant problem. Unfortunately, healthcare providers might unknowingly contribute to this problem through their actions and their (mis)understanding of LGBTQIA+ health. This panel discussion will provide several multidisciplinary points of view to help support clinicians in developing and providing compassionate and affirming care to the LGBTQIA+ community. We will discuss the current best practices that can help build rapport and create a respectful and meaningful care experience, while also addressing common practice mistakes that can hinder service delivery. Lastly, we will talk about common misinformation, conscious and unconscious biases and questions from healthcare providers regarding LGBTQIA+ health.
